The last year has brought many changes to my life. It seems like every turn I take brings new adventures. I am starting this blog as a way to communicate my passion for an innovative life. I love learning and coming up with new ideas. I enjoy being challenged to figure things out. I am a researcher! (Not something I am sure I like to admit.)
The last two weeks have been a huge learning experience for me. I have been on a journey to figure out where I fit in career wise. Searching for how to obtain my dream job. What is my contribution to the world.
So how did I get here? My husband always says that I am on the computer all the time. It made me ask myself what am I doing on the computer all the time. I know I must enjoy it because I “waste” a lot of time on the Internet. I figured out that social media is how I connect with the world. I am constantly on Facebook, Myspace, you name it. I had a twitter account, but had not caught on to it yet. I decided to go back to it and you can say Twitter opened up a can of worms. Just by following people in my field (public relations), I have discovered a whole new world for me. I now find myself obsessed with what people are thinking, what do they have to say, who is who in the social media world, and can’t get enough of reading blogs.
I am often surprised to hear that someone does not know how to blog, know what Facebook is, or who Hungry Girl is. Many times I will create something small, like a new recipe to something big for a special event I am working on, and when I share it with others the will often ask how did you do that? I have learned in the last few weeks that many people crave information, but do not have direction. Sometimes I wonder if there is just too much information and people just “shut down”.
I want people to wake up and come out of the slumber! There is a whole world of information out there that can help us challenge our thinking. You never know what great idea you may come up with next.
This blog may be for the social media expert, but it is more for you. I want to help guide you by sharing new ways of doing things, it may be in the office or even in the kitchen. So, the purpose of this blog is to break it all down for you and challenge you to dig inside yourself and find your inner “Innovation Queen”!
Hey! Make sure to add me to your feeds! It's the big flower on the top!
